Exploring Mindfulness
Our 6th graders explored mindfulness in their Term 1 Quest, "What is My Millennium Way?" Led by Stephanie Kinkle, they created guided videos on breathing, gratitude, and presence.

At Millennium School, mindfulness isn’t just a practice—it’s a way of being. This fall, our 6th-grade students embarked on a powerful journey of self-discovery in their Term 1 Quest, "What is My Millennium Way?" Led by Stephanie Kinkle, students explored what it means to be present, self-aware, and grounded in their daily lives.
As a culmination of their learning, students created mindfulness videos designed to guide others through practices that bring calm, focus, and awareness. Each video is a reflection of the students’ personal experiences with mindfulness and their growing understanding of its role in well-being.
Spotlight on Two Inspiring Videos
🎥 Breath of Awareness – A Guided Breathing Exercise
One student created a simple yet powerful breathing exercise video that helps viewers reset and refocus. Using a calming voice and visuals, this video demonstrates how conscious breathing can ease stress and improve focus—whether in class, at home, or before a big game.
🎥 Grounding Through Gratitude – A Daily Reflection Practice
Another student crafted a mindfulness exercise centered around gratitude journaling. The video encourages viewers to take a few moments each day to reflect on what they’re thankful for, reinforcing the connection between mindfulness and a positive mindset.
These videos showcase the thoughtfulness and creativity of our 6th graders as they bring mindfulness to life in a way that resonates with both their peers and our broader community.
